Booking Policy

This page tries to document our policy for booking performers. This information is subject to change without notice…

Set in Stone

  • All performances MUST be acoustic. No sound check. No DI’s. No monitors. Only room microphones (condensers) for main speakers and multi-track recording.
  • If you’re selected as AMP Performer, you’ll have to sign two documents: the AMP Festival Accord and the AMP Performer’s Agreement. If that’s not possible for you, you’re not eligible to perform.
  • All songs/compositions MUST be original and un-encumbered. If you’ve signed a publishing contract for your music, you are not eligible to perform at the AMP Festival because you’re in no legal position to make license grants to the Festival. You’d be unable allow the festival to include any songs/recordings on promotional CD or DVD samplers.
  • In fact: If you previously signed away any rights to your compositions or your visual countenance, you are likely NOT eligible. (Modeling, agency and publishing contracts typically are incompatible with participation in an AMP Festival)

Additional Considerations

  • The organizers aim to create an attractive program with out-of-town and local performers. Ensembles are more desirable than solo performers. We’ll try for equitable representation of groups within the lineup, male female etc…
  • All performers perform under the exact same conditions. This includes financial and technical ( sound / light ) conditions. Local acts are favoured because the Festival will not compensate for travel, fame or notoriety.

Time Frames

  • The submission deadline is approximately 3 months prior to the Festival date. It is best, however, to submit as soon as possible.. A submission should include: The most recent recording(s) of the performer, audio AND video. The submission must include a precise specification of ensemble size and ensemble members.
  • The AMP Festival will announce the final performance lineup approximately two weeks after the submission deadline. During those two weeks, most performance agreements will be signed.
  • Posters will become available both in hard-copy and in electronic format approximately 2 months before the Festival date. The festival poster may not list the entire performance lineup.
  • Tickets for all Festival events will become available at the same time.
  • Festival programs will become available both in hard-copy and in electronic format approximately 1 month before the Festival date and list all signed performers, photographers, sponsors and participants.
